Food for the Poor

During our many mission trips, our participants have asked if they could continue to help some of the poor in the region of Yamasà. The Grey Sisters, who currently administer the health clinic in Yamasà, also run a food program for the poor. Friends for Life has helped to expand that program and manages donations from many Canadian families.

Families give one amount for the year. That money, in its entirety, is given to the Grey Sisters who visit each family every 3 months. During that visit, one quarter of the money is given to the local grocery store, on account, thus allowing the family to purchase what they need.

This impact of this program is incredible. It can be seen in this video above by Memorywalk (Jeremy Mclean). For slower connection speeds click the “HD” button on the video to playback in standard definition.
